Magento Integration

Zynk's Magento integration connects Magento 2 stores, on Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce, to the accounting, ERP, CRM and warehouse systems that run the rest of the business. Orders, invoices, credit memos and customers move out of Magento, while products, stock, source items, prices and B2B company accounts flow in. One connector covers both D2C and trade stores.

Benefits

Why businesses connect Magento

Orders and invoices without rekeying

Magento orders, invoices and credit memos export to Sage 200, Sage 50, Xero or Business Central with tax, shipping and discounts mapped to your codes. Order statuses then update in Magento as the back office progresses each one.

Stock per warehouse or shop

Stores using Magento's Inventory Management can receive source items, so each warehouse or shop location carries its own quantity. Single-source stores simply update inventory. Either way, the storefront offers what you actually hold.

Trade pricing from the ERP

Tier prices, customer group prices and special prices import from your ERP price lists, so trade customers see their own prices and promotions start and finish on the dates finance agreed.

B2B on Open Source as well

Company accounts are an Adobe Commerce feature, so Open Source stores need an extension such as Amasty's Company Account. Zynk imports and exports companies for both, built from your ERP's customer records, so each trade buyer belongs to the right account.

Product data entered once

Products, attributes, categories and images import into Magento from your ERP or product system, so merchandisers stop typing the same item details twice and the store always shows the current range.

Shipments and tracking back in Magento

When your warehouse or carrier despatches an order, Zynk creates the shipment in Magento and adds the tracking number, so the order shows as shipped with tracking attached.

The problem

Why integrate Magento?

Magento handles catalogue, checkout and customer accounts well. It was never meant to be the ledger, the warehouse or the price book. Run on its own, it leaves staff copying orders into the accounts, updating stock from spreadsheets and rekeying trade prices whenever the ERP changes, with errors building as order volumes rise.

Without integration

  • Magento orders exported to CSV and imported into Sage each morning
  • Stock updated from spreadsheets, with every warehouse lumped together
  • Trade customers seeing retail prices because tier prices were not updated
  • Shoppers chasing customer services for a tracking number
  • Product data maintained separately in Magento and the ERP

With Zynk

  • Orders, invoices and credit memos export to finance automatically
  • Source items import per location from the ERP or WMS
  • Tier, group and special prices import from ERP price lists
  • Shipments and tracking import into Magento on despatch
  • Products, attributes, categories and images come from one source

How it works

How the Magento integration works

  1. Step 1: Connect your store

Zynk connects to Magento through its REST API, using credentials set up in the Magento admin, and to your accounting, ERP or warehouse system.

  2. Step 2: Map stores and codes

Magento websites, stores and customer groups map to the accounts, price bands and departments in your back office, along with tax classes, payment methods and shipping methods.

  3. Step 3: Agree who owns what

Choose the direction for each record: orders and credit memos out, stock and prices in, and whether companies, products and categories are maintained in Magento or in the ERP.

  4. Step 4: Automate and watch

Workflows run on a schedule or on demand. Orders are collected as they are placed, stock and prices update through the day, and any record that fails is flagged with the reason.

Magento and Sage 200

Magento orders arrive in Sage 200 as sales orders, with customer accounts created as needed. Sage 200 stock, price bands and despatch notes then update the store.

Magento integration FAQs

Can Magento orders go into Sage automatically?
Yes. Magento orders and customers can be posted to Sage 50, Sage 200 or Sage Intacct as sales orders or invoices without anyone rekeying them. Stock levels, price lists and despatch details can then be sent back so the store reflects what your accounts hold.
Which versions of Magento does Zynk support?
Zynk supports Magento 2, covering Magento Open Source (formerly Community Edition) and Adobe Commerce (formerly Enterprise Edition), with limited legacy support for Magento 1. Adobe ended support for Magento 1 in June 2020, so new projects are built on Magento 2.
How does Magento Open Source differ from Adobe Commerce?
Adobe Commerce is the paid edition of Magento, previously called Magento Commerce or Enterprise Edition, and Magento Open Source is the free edition. Zynk's connector works with both, and B2B company features apply where your edition or extensions provide them.
Does Zynk support Magento B2B stores?
Yes. Zynk imports and exports companies for Adobe Commerce's B2B module and for Amasty's Company Account extension, which adds company accounts to Magento Open Source. Customer groups, group prices and tier prices import from your ERP, so each trade buyer sees their agreed prices.
Can Zynk manage multi-source inventory in Magento?
Yes. Magento's Inventory Management lets a store hold stock at several sources, such as warehouses or shops. Zynk exports and imports source items, so each source's quantity comes from the system that tracks it and Magento calculates salable quantity from there.
How do I connect Magento to Xero for accounting?
Zynk exports Magento invoices and credit memos and creates matching invoices and credit notes in Xero, with tax rates and sales accounts mapped during setup. Our team configures the connection, mappings and schedule with you, then monitors it once live.
Can the integration update order status in Magento?
Yes. As orders progress in your ERP or warehouse, Zynk can update their status in Magento, create shipments and add tracking numbers. Order details can be updated too, so the account area on your store shows customers the same position your team sees.
What do we need to start a Magento integration?
A call with our team. We'll look at your Magento edition, any B2B extensions, the systems you want to connect and which records each should own, then recommend a workflow and set out the steps to go live.
