Premier Healthcare & Hygiene automates order fulfilment with Zynk, Sage and Shiptheory

Premier Healthcare & Hygiene started as a local business in Newcastle and now supplies funeral directors, schools and the NHS. Its range covers physiotherapy services, specialised chairs and beds, dietary and medical supplies, and cleaning and hygiene products, sold through its Magento store and offline.

Challenge

Every web order was handled twice. Orders from the Magento store were keyed into Sage by hand, then keyed again for the warehouse. Shipping moved from paper to the Parcelforce portal, but every address was still typed in manually, and staff logged in to several portals each day to get orders out. As the team put it: "It was a long process that nobody wanted to do, so we knew we needed to find a solution."

Solution

After researching the options, the team found Zynk, and in their words "it just snowballed in the right direction from there". With Zynk and Shiptheory, Premier's previously disconnected platforms now work together. Sage is the single source for every order, from the Magento store or offline, and feeds Shiptheory through one integration, so nobody re-keys an order or an address.

On the delivery side, Parcelforce handles about 99% of standard parcels, an in-house driver covers 20 to 30 miles around Newcastle, and several couriers take palletised goods.

Results

• Labels in seconds: creating a shipping label dropped from about a minute per order to around ten seconds, 83% faster.
• Office orders automated: simple office orders that used to take at least five minutes now go through automatically.
• 43–64 hours saved each month, at around 20 to 30 parcels a day.
• Time back for growth: staff spend the time on customers and growing the business, and Premier hasn't needed to hire anyone to process extra orders.
