How it works

How the Web integration works

Step 1: Describe the job
We agree which website is involved, which pages and actions are needed, what data should be entered or collected and which files should be downloaded.
Step 2: Build the automation
Zynk's Web Automation task is configured to carry out those steps, taking its input from your ERP, accounting system or CRM where data needs to be entered.
Step 3: Connect the output
Collected data and downloaded files are converted and imported into the target system by Zynk's other connectors, all within the same workflow.
Step 4: Schedule and monitor
The workflow runs at the times you choose. Errors, such as a page that has changed its layout, are reported so the automation can be updated.

What can the Zynk Web integration automate?

It automates actions people normally carry out in a web browser, including submitting forms, entering data, collecting structured data from pages and downloading files. Each action runs as a step in a Zynk workflow, so it can be combined with imports into your other systems.

When is web automation the right choice?

It suits websites and portals you use regularly that offer no other way to send or receive data. Where a system has a dedicated Zynk connector or an API, that is usually the better route, and we will recommend it during scoping.

Can Zynk download files from a website automatically?

Yes. A workflow can download files from a site on a schedule and pass them to the next step, for example converting a CSV file and importing the rows into Sage, Business Central or Xero, without anyone logging in to fetch them.

Can web automation enter orders into a supplier portal?

Yes. Order details held in your ERP or accounting system can be entered on a supplier's website by the Web Automation task, so buyers no longer copy each line by hand. We confirm the portal's screens and the data involved during scoping.

What happens if the website changes?

Web automation follows the steps a person would take, so a change to a page's layout or fields can stop it working. Zynk reports the failure so it can be reviewed, and the automation is updated to match the new page.

Do I need developers to use the Web integration?

No. Web automation is configured as part of a Zynk Workflow project, our low-code platform, and our team can build and maintain it for you. Your staff only need to tell us which site, which steps and which data are involved.

Can collected web data go into my CRM?

Yes. Data gathered from web pages can be mapped to records in Salesforce, HubSpot or another CRM that Zynk connects to, creating new records or updating existing ones. That keeps information your team used to copy by hand current in the system they work in.
