Sugar CRM Integration

Sugar CRM is now known as SugarAI. Zynk's Sugar CRM integration connects it to the accounting, ERP and ecommerce systems your sales and finance teams rely on. Records queried from any Sugar module can create customers, sales orders or invoices in Sage, Business Central or Xero, and invoices, orders and payments can be written back into Sugar. It suits B2B teams that sell on account.

Benefits

Why businesses connect Sugar CRM

Won deals become customer accounts

When an opportunity closes, the account and its contacts can be created in Sage, Business Central or Xero from the Sugar record, so finance does not rekey company names, addresses and contact details from a CRM screen.

Invoices raised from the deal

Closed opportunities can become invoices in Xero or sales orders in Business Central, carrying the products and values agreed in Sugar. What the customer is billed then matches what the salesperson actually sold.

Spend visible to account managers

Invoices, orders and payments from your accounting system can be written into Sugar, so account managers see what each customer has bought and paid before a renewal or reorder conversation, without asking finance.

Any module, including custom ones

Export Query reads from whichever Sugar module you need, and Import Records writes to any of them, custom modules and fields included. The integration follows how your Sugar instance is configured rather than a fixed template.

Online orders on the customer record

Customers and orders from Shopify or Magento can be imported into Sugar, giving marketing and service teams the web purchase history alongside calls, meetings and cases.

The problem

Why integrate Sugar CRM?

Sugar holds the relationship: accounts, contacts, opportunities and cases. The accounting system holds the money. When the two are disconnected, finance rekeys new customers from the CRM, sales chase invoices they cannot see and customer details drift apart. The gap is widest at the moment a deal is won.

Without integration

  • New customers typed into Sage from a CRM printout
  • Sales staff emailing finance to ask what a customer owes
  • Won deals re-entered as invoices days after closing
  • Addresses corrected in the CRM but never in the accounts
  • Web orders invisible to the account team

With Zynk

  • Accounts are created in the ledger from the Sugar record
  • Invoices and payments are visible inside Sugar
  • Closed opportunities become invoices or sales orders automatically
  • Customer details come from one agreed master record
  • Ecommerce orders are imported into Sugar against the right account

How it works

How the Sugar CRM integration works

  1. Step 1: Connect Sugar

Zynk connects to your Sugar instance through the Sugar REST API, which uses OAuth 2.0. A dedicated OAuth key and platform can be created so the integration does not interfere with other users' sessions.

  2. Step 2: Choose the records

Export queries define which Sugar records leave the CRM, for example opportunities at Closed Won or accounts changed since the last run. Each query can target standard or custom modules.

  3. Step 3: Map fields to each system

Sugar fields are mapped to customers, sales orders or invoices in the accounting system, and accounting records are mapped onto Sugar modules when they are imported, including any custom fields you depend on.

  4. Step 4: Schedule and review

Workflows run on a schedule you choose. Records that fail, such as an account missing a required field, are reported so your team corrects the source rather than patching the ledger.

Example use cases for Sugar CRM integration

Sugar CRM and Sage 200

Create Sage 200 customer accounts from Sugar accounts once a deal is won, and copy Sage 200 invoices and sales orders into Sugar so account managers can see what each customer buys.

Sugar CRM and Sage 50 UK

Open Sage 50 customer records from new Sugar accounts, and bring Sage 50 invoices into Sugar so sales staff can check recent spend before they pick up the phone.

Sugar CRM and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Sugar CRM integration FAQs

Is Sugar CRM now called SugarAI?
Yes. In April 2026 SugarCRM announced a new brand identity as SugarAI, and the company's website now presents it as SugarAI, formerly SugarCRM. This page keeps the Sugar CRM name so existing users can find it, and the integration described here applies to the same Sugar platform.
Can Sugar CRM share customers and invoices with Sage?
Zynk connects Sugar to Sage 50 UK and Sage 200. Accounts in Sugar can create customer records in Sage, and Sage invoices and sales orders can be written back to Sugar, so sales and finance work from the same customer list.
Can Sugar CRM create invoices in Xero?
Yes. An export query picks up opportunities that have closed in Sugar, and Zynk creates the matching contact and invoice in Xero. Payments recorded in Xero can then be written back to Sugar so account managers know what has been paid.
Does Sugar have an API that Zynk uses?
Sugar provides a REST API secured with OAuth 2.0, and the Zynk connector is built on it. You supply the instance URL and a user with suitable permissions, and Zynk handles the requests, so no custom development is needed on your side.
Can Zynk work with custom modules in Sugar?
Yes. Export Query can read from any Sugar module and Import Records can write to any of them, including custom modules and fields. That lets the integration match the way your Sugar instance has been configured over the years.
Why bring ERP data into Sugar?
SugarAI describes its CRM as helping sellers spot issues and opportunities hiding in CRM and ERP data. Zynk can bring invoices, orders and payments from your accounting or ERP system into Sugar, so sales teams see real transaction history inside the CRM.
How long does a Sugar CRM integration project take?
It depends on how many modules and systems are involved and how customised your Sugar instance is. We look at your modules, custom fields and target systems first, then give you a plan and timeline before any work starts.
