Amazon Vendor Central Integration

Zynk's Amazon Vendor Central integration runs the order cycle for suppliers selling to Amazon as first-party vendors. Retail procurement purchase orders and direct fulfilment orders download into Sage, Business Central or your warehouse system, while acknowledgements, shipment confirmations and invoices go back to Amazon. Direct fulfilment packing slips and shipping labels are collected automatically too.

Benefits

Why businesses connect Amazon Vendor Central

Purchase orders straight from Amazon

Retail procurement purchase orders export from Vendor Central and arrive as sales orders in your ERP or warehouse system. Nobody has to check the portal for new orders or copy order lines out by hand.

Acknowledgements from your own system

Order acknowledgements go back to Amazon from the system that holds your stock, accepting or rejecting lines against what you can actually supply. Your order book and Amazon's view of the order stay the same.

Shipment confirmations that match the despatch

When goods leave for Amazon's fulfilment centres, shipment confirmations import into Vendor Central from your despatch data, so Amazon knows what is on its way without anyone retyping cartons and quantities.

Invoices without the portal

Retail procurement invoices import into Amazon from your accounting or ERP system as soon as they are raised. Finance stops recreating invoices in Vendor Central, and the figures Amazon holds match your own ledger.

Direct fulfilment without manual steps

For direct fulfilment, Zynk downloads shopper orders, acknowledges them, requests shipping labels, collects labels and packing slips, and confirms each shipment, so drop-ship orders run without anyone working through the portal.

API first, with legacy EDI covered

The current connector works through Amazon's vendor APIs and is the one we recommend for new projects. Zynk's older EDI connector, now marked legacy, still downloads purchase orders for vendors who already use it.

The problem

Why integrate Amazon Vendor Central?

Selling to Amazon as a vendor brings a constant flow of documents: purchase orders to acknowledge, shipments to confirm, invoices to submit and, for direct fulfilment, labels and packing slips for every parcel. Worked through the Vendor Central portal, each step is manual and time-sensitive, and a late or missing document leads to queries, delays and rework.

Without integration

  • Purchase orders copied out of Vendor Central line by line
  • Acknowledgements keyed into the portal one order at a time
  • Shipment details typed in after the lorry has already left
  • Invoices recreated in the portal from the accounting system
  • Labels and packing slips downloaded by hand for each parcel

With Zynk

  • Retail procurement orders download into your ERP automatically
  • Acknowledgements go back to Amazon from your own system
  • Shipment confirmations import into Vendor Central from despatch data
  • Retail procurement invoices import into Amazon automatically
  • Labels and packing slips export for every direct fulfilment order

How it works

How the Amazon Vendor Central integration works

  1. Step 1: Authorise your vendor account

You authorise Zynk against your Vendor Central account for the regions you supply, then connect the ERP, accounting or warehouse system that will handle Amazon orders.

  2. Step 2: Map items, sites and accounts

Map Amazon's product identifiers to your item codes, Amazon fulfilment centres and your ship-from locations to addresses and warehouses, and Amazon to the customer account that orders and invoices post against.

  3. Step 3: Test the full cycle

Take orders through acknowledgement, shipment confirmation and invoicing before going live. For direct fulfilment, test orders can be generated in Amazon's sandbox, so labels and confirmations are proven before real shoppers are involved.

  4. Step 4: Run and monitor

Orders download on a schedule, and acknowledgements, confirmations and invoices go back as your systems record them. Alerts flag any document that fails to submit, so it is corrected while there is still time.

Amazon Vendor Central integration FAQs

Who uses Amazon Vendor Central?
Vendor Central is the portal Amazon uses for first-party suppliers, who sell stock wholesale to Amazon rather than to shoppers. Amazon raises purchase orders, the vendor ships to Amazon's fulfilment centres or direct to customers, and Amazon handles the retail sale.
What is the difference between retail procurement and direct fulfilment?
In retail procurement, Amazon buys stock on purchase orders and you ship it to Amazon's fulfilment centres. In direct fulfilment, Amazon sells to the shopper and you ship each order from your own warehouse. Zynk's connector covers both, with separate tasks for each.
Can Amazon Vendor Central purchase orders go into Sage?
Yes. Zynk exports Amazon purchase orders and creates them as sales orders in Sage 200, Sage 50 or Sage 200 Cloud Standard, against the customer account you use for Amazon. Shipment confirmations and invoices can then go back to Amazon from Sage.
Does the integration send acknowledgements and shipment confirmations?
Yes. Order acknowledgements and shipment confirmations import into Vendor Central for both retail procurement and direct fulfilment orders. Shipment confirmations tell Amazon what is on its way, built from the despatch data already held in your own systems.
Can Zynk submit invoices to Amazon Vendor Central?
Yes. Retail procurement invoices import into Vendor Central from your accounting or ERP system, using the invoice your finance team has already raised. Amazon receives it without anyone rekeying the figures into the portal.
Can Zynk get shipping labels for direct fulfilment orders?
Yes. Zynk can submit shipping label requests to Amazon and export the labels and packing slips once they are ready, so your warehouse prints them with the order. Amazon offers label requests to vendors who ship with Amazon's carriers.
Does the Vendor Central connector use EDI or Amazon's API?
The current connector works through Amazon's vendor APIs, and it is the one we recommend for new projects. Zynk also has an older EDI connector, now marked legacy, which downloads purchase orders and clears processed files for vendors already set up on EDI.
