DHL Supply Chain Integration

Zynk's DHL Supply Chain integration feeds the DHL warehouse management system with the records it needs to run your fulfilment. Sales orders, item master data and ASN receipts flow in from your ERP or accounting system, such as Sage 200, Sage 50, Business Central or NetSuite, or from Linnworks or Shopify, so brands that outsource warehousing to DHL stop exporting spreadsheets and rekeying orders for the warehouse team.

Benefits

Why businesses connect DHL Supply Chain

Orders reach the warehouse without rekeying

Sales orders from your ERP, order management system or web store are created in DHL Supply Chain as outbound orders, ready for the warehouse to pick, pack and despatch. If an order changes after it has been sent, the existing record is updated.

One item master for you and DHL

Products set up in your back office import into DHL Supply Chain as items, so the warehouse holds the same SKUs and product details you sell. New lines are on file and ready to receive before the first delivery arrives.

Goods-in knows what is coming

ASN receipts tell DHL that a replenishment delivery is scheduled or on its way. Zynk creates them from the purchase orders you raise with suppliers, so the warehouse can plan space and labour before the lorry turns up.

Proven in the DHL sandbox

DHL issues separate sandbox and production credentials. Workflows run against the sandbox first, so the mappings for orders, items and ASN receipts are checked before a single live order lands in the warehouse.

A clear record of every transfer

Each task writes the records that imported to a success file and any that failed to a fail file. Your team sees exactly which order or item needs fixing, instead of guessing what the warehouse actually received.

The problem

Why integrate DHL Supply Chain?

Handing warehousing to DHL Supply Chain frees up space and staff, but the warehouse can only ship what it knows about. Every order, new product and inbound supplier delivery has to reach DHL accurately and on time. Without integration, someone exports, reformats and uploads that data by hand, often several times a day.

Without integration

  • Orders exported from the ERP and uploaded to DHL in batches, so despatch waits on admin
  • New SKUs arriving at the warehouse before DHL has an item record for them
  • Supplier deliveries turning up unannounced at goods-in
  • Amended orders phoned or emailed through to the warehouse team
  • No easy way to see which records the warehouse system rejected

With Zynk

  • Orders are created in DHL Supply Chain every time the workflow runs
  • Items import into DHL from your product master before stock lands
  • ASN receipts give the warehouse notice of each replenishment delivery
  • Order changes update the existing record in DHL Supply Chain
  • Success and fail files show what imported and what needs attention

How it works

How the DHL Supply Chain integration works

  1. Step 1: Set up the DHL connection

Your DHL Supply Chain representative provides API credentials for the sandbox and production environments. Zynk stores them in a DHL connection, alongside a connection to the system that holds your orders, products and purchase orders.

  2. Step 2: Map orders, items and ASNs

We line up SKUs, addresses, supplier references and order numbers between your source system and DHL's formats, so each order, item and ASN receipt arrives with the fields the warehouse expects.

  3. Step 3: Prove it in the sandbox

Workflows run against DHL's sandbox with sample orders and purchase orders. Once you and the warehouse are happy with the results, the connection is switched to production.

  4. Step 4: Run on your schedule

Orders, items and ASN receipts then flow to DHL as often as you need, and anything the warehouse system rejects is flagged to your team for correction.

DHL Supply Chain integration FAQs

Can Sage 200 send orders to a DHL Supply Chain warehouse?
Yes. Zynk takes sales orders, stock records and purchase orders from Sage 200 and creates them in DHL Supply Chain as orders, items and ASN receipts. The same approach works for Sage 50 UK and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
What data can Zynk send to DHL Supply Chain?
Three record types: items, which form the warehouse item master; orders, which ask the warehouse to pick, pack and despatch goods; and ASN receipts, which tell DHL a replenishment delivery is due. Each task can create new records or update existing ones.
What is an ASN receipt?
An ASN receipt, short for advance shipping notice, tells the warehouse that a stock delivery is scheduled or already on its way. They are also known as inbound logistics orders or delivery advice. Zynk usually builds them from the purchase orders in your ERP.
How do I get access to the DHL Supply Chain API?
Ask your DHL Supply Chain representative for API credentials. DHL provides separate usernames and passwords for its sandbox and production environments, and Zynk uses them to create the connection. Our team can help you request the right access during onboarding.
Can I connect Shopify or Linnworks to a DHL warehouse?
Yes. Orders exported from Shopify or Linnworks can be created in DHL Supply Chain for fulfilment, and product records from either system can set up the item master. Linnworks purchase orders can also become ASN receipts for incoming stock.
Does Zynk bring stock levels or despatch updates back from DHL Supply Chain?
The current DHL Supply Chain tasks send items, orders and ASN receipts into the warehouse system. If you need despatch confirmations or stock figures returned to your ERP or store, raise it during scoping and we will look at the options for your account.
What happens if an order fails to import into DHL?
The record is written to a fail file and the error is logged, while successful records go to a success file. Workflows can alert your team, so the order is corrected and resent rather than sitting unnoticed until a customer chases it.
Can DHL Supply Chain connect to my ERP?
Yes. Zynk sends sales orders, items and ASN receipts from ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage 200 and NetSuite into the DHL Supply Chain warehouse system, so the warehouse works from the same records as your ERP without exports or rekeying.
